Then I saw a youtube video that said you should always convert everything to a path, so I highlighted all my layers and converted object to path and then pressed stroke to path too just to be sure. I googled and searched youtube for a solution, I thought maybe it was because I still had the raster image in a layer in the file (I thought maybe that kept it from being a true svg or something), so I deleted the layer with the raster image, that didn't work. Now when I open the file in preview app after saving, it's just blank white. After that, I wanted to hide the raster image of the mountains and only save and export my drawing/tracing of the mountains as a svg. I created this Inkscape file by first importing a raster image image of some mountains that I wanted to trace and make into an SVG, (followed a youtube tutorial that told me to hide the canvas), then I created a few layers where I traced over parts of the image with the pen tool. When I save my svg file in inkscape, and then view it in preview it is just a blank white file. I googled to try and understand what I am doing wrong but found no obvious answer.
